Recently, I’ve been the statistician and data guru for an urban federally qualified health center, a group of non-profit health clinics in Reno called Community Health Alliance. I have implemented organization-wide electronic medical record software (EMR) installations and have created metadata structures and data extraction protocols that we used as the basis for federal reporting and for internal performance dashboards. Specifically, I wrote code that extracts, cleans and formats data in order to provide reporting to our CFO, to regulatory agencies, to the foundations that provide grant funding, etc. I have been able to automate many such reports (insurance reimbursement rates, clinic efficiency, cost/revenue analyses, best practices tracking for diabetic, elderly, pregant, etc. populations) such that any of my colleagues can go on our intranet, enter parameters and quickly retrieve customized versions of these reports.

At this company I wrote programs and created applications that built revenue reports. This automation replaced repetitive tasks that used to be performed, at great expense of time, by my colleagues. I would be very happy to demonstrate a Microsoft Excel “plug-in” I developed that allows a user to choose a medical practice and a time frame and create formatted reports for our clients with the click of a button.

During a one-year contract I used SPSS, Excel and Tableau to build reports that show trends in college applications, graduation, enrollment, etc. I automated these reports for frequent publishing to the web, and they are now in use by other colleges under the auspices of Nevada State Higher Ed. Automated integration of commercial mortgage backed security data into our analytics and default prediction software. Learned and trained others, including clients at KeyBank, on mathematical modeling of CMBS securites. Used VBA to develop asset manager metrics for collaterized debt obligations.

Managed and updated the Moody’s CMBS library and fixed cash flows for many individual deal models.Devised, tested and implemented many fixes to SFW, our structured finance analysis software, in order to more accurately depict CMBS cash flows and data.

Analyzing trends in the gaming industry (especially regarding market share, expected revenue, and machine inventories) and using this information to prepare consulting reports for clients.

Grading homework assignments and occasionally teaching undergraduate classes in the economics department.
