About Jim Grimes

I am a software engineer eager to build an interesting and rewarding career in software development. In my previous career, I worked as an attorney in small and dynamic law firm. That experience allowed me to learn new concepts, tackle unique challenges, and make a positive impact on the world. My transition to software engineering is fueled by a desire to continue learning and solving problems.I graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 and then graduated with honors from Rutgers Law School in 2015. After law school, I worked as a law clerk in the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division. At the end of my clerkship, I found a job as an associate attorney at Shanahan & Voigt, LLC, a small law firm in Flemington, New Jersey, where I focused on transactional law—particularly real estate, land use, zoning, agricultural matters, and estate planning. Having worked as an attorney for almost seven years, I was driven to pursue software engineering to work on interesting and complex projects, creating solutions to unique challenges while making a positive impact.
