At Carla & Keyes, we create and perform historical programming for schools and museums. Among our programs are, "This Man's A Spy!", a musical re-telling of the story of Benedict Arnold's plot to sell the plans for West Point to the British, "Ona's Interview", the true story of Ona Judge, George Washington's runaway slave, "An Afternoon With Madam CJ.

As an independent composer, my music is part of the Beach Street Music production library. Through Beach Street, my work has been used on "Crossing Over With John Edwards", "Eye Witness News Kids" and "Sally Jesse Raphael". My music is also part of the Getty Images/Pump Audio collection.

For nearly twenty years I have worked in schools and museums as a teaching artist. Most of my artist-in-residence work has centered around curriculum-based songwriting as well as Colonial music workshops. I have been a "roster artist" for the Westchester Arts Council (now known as "ArtsWestchester) and Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES. I have annually.

Over the years I have found myself a niche as a Historic musician. As such, I perform in period clothing using reproduction instruments. My specialties include Colonial and pre-Civil War music. I have performed for years at Van Cortlandt Manor, Philipsburg Manor, Sunnyside, St. Paul's Church National Historic Site, John Jay Homestead and Hamilton Grange..

The Tappan Cowboys are a band of accomplished musicians who have a great time playing old-timey Americana, Bluegrass, Country and Cowboy music. They're perfect for everything from your back yard BBQ to your corporate event!

For twenty years I have had a very active teaching practice. Besides the usual guitar and piano lessons, I have taught songwriting and production. Now that everyone has access to multitrack recording, looping and sampling, I've been doing more and more work teaching young people the basics of using these tools.

Sleepy Hollow, New York

For Hudson River Recreation, I lead kayak tours on the Hudson River with stops along the way to give facts about the Tarrytown lighthouse and the Tappan Zee Bridge. I'm responsible for the setup and breakdown of all the kayaks and gear. I'm also responsible for orienting the guests and managing the junior guides.As an instructor, I give lessons in paddling.

The Pirate King is a character I developed and performed during Philipsburgh Manor's "Legend Weekend". For this event, I created a 15 minute show of pirate jokes and songs."The Lord of Misrule" was developed for Van Cortlandt Manor's Candlelight Tours, held during the month of December. The Lord of Misrule was an important part of any Twelfthnight.

After completing the New York State training and exams, I took weekly shifts responding to medical emergencies; motor vehicle accidents, cardiac arrests etc.

After studying American Sign Language at Hunter College, I did one-on-one interpreting for students in general education classes. I also interpreted for group lectures and presentations.
