• Educated business clients on a wide range of compliance issues and policies (e.g., company producer agreements, privacy, market conduct examinations, risk purchasing groups, business discontinuance, and international business). • Collaborated with clients to formulate business strategy in response to changes in insurance laws and regulations.• At both Zurich and The Home managed Legal Compliance for the respective Specialties’ Business Units and implemented regulatory compliance initiatives. Each unit wrote in excess of $2 billion in gross aggregate annual premiums for the following product lines: professional liability, employer’s liability, environmental impairment liability, healthcare professional liability, general liability, directors and officers liability, excess/umbrella casualty, surety and accident and health. • Negotiated and drafted numerous agreements including program administrator, producer, claims handling, deductible escrow, confidentiality, asset purchase, renewal rights and non-compete agreements.• Negotiated with insurance regulators to reduce penalties and fines resulting from market conduct exams and other instances of non-compliance with insurance laws and regulations.• Served as primary legal resource for all surplus line matters.
