Jim Muench is a published author, playwright, journalist, public relations consultant and teacher.His third book, "The Historic 1830s German Immigration to Missouri," co-authored with three historians, was published in 2016 by Footnoted Legacies in Washington, Mo. His first non-fiction book, "Five Stars: Missouri's Most Famous Generals" (University of Missouri Press, 2006) covered the life histories of five Army generals with significant connections to the state. His award-winning play, "The Eye of the Sun," received stage readings at Rockhurst College and William Woods University. His historic action/mystery novel, "The Teutonic Cross," was published in 2013 by Silver Tongue Press in Milwaukee. After the economic downturn in 2008 disrupted his free-lance writing and PR consulting business, he decided to try teaching. He is currently teaching an English course at Columbia College. He has taught courses in journalism, English and strategic communication at the University of Missouri, Lincoln University, Westminster College and Stephens College.
