PURPOSE The Missouri Municipal League was organized in 1934. Since its organization, its aim has been "to develop an agency for the cooperation of Missouri cities, towns and villages and to promote the interest, welfare and closer relations among them in order to improve municipal government and administration in the state." Thus, the League's basic goal is to strengthen cities through unity and cooperation. The Westgate Division is for the western part of the state of Missouri.

The Independence Council for Economic Development is a non-profit, public/private partnership, which was established in 1983 for the purpose of supporting and enhancing the economic growth of Independence. The Board of Directors oversees the establishment of policy for the organization with initiatives carried out by professional staff. ICED contracts with the City of Independence and the Independence Chamber of Commerce to perform economic development services. 60+ private sector investors also provide financial support to allow ICED to carry out the mission statement of the organization.

MARC is a nonprofit association of city and county governments and the metropolitan planning organization for the bistate Kansas City region. Governed by a board of local elected officials, we serve nine counties and 120 cities.
