✭ Progressed through increasingly accountable roles, providing the operational and financial vision, strategic planning, and execution expertise to aid in building the #1-ranked and Ohio’s largest motorcoach service—175 buses, 4 terminals, 400+ team members, and $30M+ in annual revenue—acquired by Coach America in 2008 and Coach USA in 2012. ✭Retained by Coach USA to provide seasoned leadership in the management of not only day-to-day operations, but also strategic planning, policy development, human resources, and financial and performance analysis. Assessed existing operating approaches, identified synergies and redundancies, and created a streamlined platform from which to grow the business and brand. Served as a key liaison to the team, communicating often-adverse information in a challenging cultural environment where employees needed to be reassured of their position and value within the organization.➥ Managed payroll processing for the entire 450-person workforce, addressed reconciliation issues, processed personnel changes, and managed the system throughout the initial transition period to Coach USA.➥ Directed all contract billing and compliance, serving as the expert resource in this area, educating new leaders about existing contracts, requirements, pricing models, and profitability metrics.➥ Converted HRIS and payroll processing systems to an ADP platform, dramatically improving administrative efficiencies, operational effectiveness, and access to key analysis and reporting tools.➥ Migrated the business to a new reservation system, mapping system requirements to ensure data integrity, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and positioning software to support business needs.

Provided mission-critical support as Coach America purchased Lakefront Lines and began integrating the two organizations. Developed safety strategies, operating policies, and performance expectations to align efforts with desired outcomes. Created a sound operating infrastructure which once again drew interest from a potential buyer, resulting in Coach USA purchasing the business in 2012. Managed M&A integration efforts while maintaining focus on safety and compliance.➥ Drove adherence to heightened safety and regulatory guidelines—mandated by OSHA and environmental agencies—required of what became a much larger organization with 450 associates and $30M in revenue.➥ Emerged successfully from the first annual safety audit, taking the proactive measures to provide the organization and team with the resources, training, and mechanisms to ensure total regulatory compliance.

Transitioned to lead the Airport Shuttle Services Division of the company—Hopkins Transportation Service—managing contracts and relationships with clients including the Transit Authority and county governments. Grew the business to $5M in gross revenue and 100 associates, providing hands-on leadership of all human resources, accounting, and financial reporting.➥ Played an instrumental role in the selection of, and migration to, a new web-based reservation system, providing the business with an unprecedented level of operating efficiency, performance analysis, and asset optimization.➥ Developed first-time operating policies, processes, and protocols, establishing the systems critical to designing and managing an efficient and effective business, controlling costs, and maximizing profitability in a challenging economy.➥ Sourced and secured new service contracts, building business to a multimillion-dollar producer, capturing a foothold in the region, and positioning organization as an acquisition target by Coach America.

Drove the development and launch of a brand new contract-focused line of business—RVG Transportation—created to focus on pursuing and administering service contracts in markets both on the East and West Coasts. Managed daily operations, developed short- and long-range strategies, and led team of 100+ in delivering on contract requirements. Administered contracts valued at up to $1M for the operation of a fixed-route transit system and airport shuttle parking service.➥ Established and communicated performance expectations to all team members, ensuring all associates were working purposefully to add value to this new business model, meet customers’ expectations, and fulfill goals.➥ Served as one of two management leaders running the business—100+ team members located in San Jose, CA and Laurel, MD—managing geographically and culturally diverse teams in complying with contract expectations.➥ Developed original business infrastructures supported with the buying power of Lakefront Lines, creating and managing the operating entities and all related accounting, finance, human resources, and payroll functions.

Collaborated with the controller to shape the accounting organization, involving preparing department and company budgets, management reports, financial statements, reconciliations, and performance analyses. Monitored investment policies and recommended actions based on projected ROI. Delivered technical support across the organization’s multisite footprint, assisted with ad hoc projects, and oversaw software and hardware installations.➥ Performed the full spectrum of accounting functions from day-to-day bookkeeping to month- and year-end close.
