Managed programs to design, develop & launch energy storage products. Managed & developed teams of engineers including remote FEA Analysis, design, drafting, prototyping, testing & production launch support teams. Reduced NPI for battery module and enclosure design to 6-month cycle times, meeting commercial sales-cycle requirements. Performed supplier selection, development, and quality audits for four enclosure & multiple subsystem sources. Developed & managed PLM processes, including configuration control & drafting. Member of a production & customer support team, using FMEA & 8D for root cause analysis (RCA).• Led program to design, develop & product launch of lithium ion battery energy storage battery enclosures for grid applications, including structural, electrical, HVAC, building control, & fire suppression system design, ensuring compliance with quality standards & regulatory guidelines. Developed and executed strategy for flexible design (1.5 MWh to 20 MWh) and 60% cost reduction. • Managed programs for developing 100-500 KWh and 1-6 MWh sized NaMx battery energy storage enclosures including validation testing and production launch efforts. The result were energy storage systems 4X the energy density of lithium ion. Supported the commissioning of projects in the US and Canada.• Managed program for module design of NaMx batteries including subsystem / component validation testing, cabinet integration, and production launch efforts. Developed and launched design iterations for UPS, Telecom, Utility, and Mining batteries. Drove thermal, CFD, and structural dynamic CAE analysis and method development to validate battery module and enclosure design (ANSYS and Fluent). E• Oversaw Energy Storage Mechanical Engineering Prototype and Testing Lab - performing electrical / mechanical / thermal design validation testing, developing system testing fixtures, and supporting field service installation development. Managed safety, maintenance, and calibration records.
