Broadcast Engineer
CurrentWorking full time in the broadcast engineering department for NBC Sports Philadelphia Self-managing providing live event support, studio show support, and IT/Web support. Managing and monitoring all inbound and outbound feeds via satellite, WRAPS, IP, fiber, ASI, DVB-S/S2, MPEG/IP, and LiveU for live broadcast, tape, and web daily needs for Philadelphia Flyers, Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Phillies, Philadelphia Eagles, Philadelphia Soul, and the Philadelphia Union.Coordinating and faxing out all live sports events for air. Responsible for coord bridges. Troubleshoot, repair, general maintenance, and cleaning of all broadcast equipment.Responsible for sending out broadcast equipment for repair when required.Responsible for adding new equipment into the equipment database. Providing support and monitoring for HD Avid.Live monitoring of all broadcast computer system performance. Providing assistance for the installation of all new equipment.Providing extensive daily shift reports.Coordinating with outside vendors for support, equipment, updates, and upgrades.Reading schematics, documents, CAD, and VIDCAD drawings when required.Interacting with studio crew for assistance in keeping all equipment operating as it should. Working with cable head end, XOC, and the NOC to resolve any broadcast issues.
