I am a partner who leads the firm’s Real Estate Litigation Practice within the broader Business Litigation Practice. Due to my expertise in landlord and tenant law litigation displayed in court and as a frequent seminar presenter, and my former leadership position with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation as its president and long-time board member, I was chosen by the former Chief Judge of the Fulton County State Court to serve as a Fulton County magistrate by designation to handle eviction cases on a pro bono basis during 2011. I focus my practice on the representation of banks and other lenders, owners, developers, sellers, purchasers, landlords, tenants, property managers, contractors, brokers and others concerned with legal issues related to real estate, such as the enforcement of loan documents and contracts for the purchase and sale of real property, foreclosure sale confirmation proceedings, actions for the partition of land, quiet title actions, statutory eviction and distress proceedings, specific performance relief, claims for nuisance and trespass, construction claims and liens, and equitable proceedings for injunctive relief. I have extensive experience in handling general business litigation in a broad range of areas besides real estate, including in particular breach of contract actions and disputes involving business tort claims such as fraud, conversion, defamation, and interference with contractual and business relationships that may include claims for punitive damages. I focus my practice primarily on litigation in the Superior Courts, State Courts, Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
