About James Ferguson
I am a full-stack software developer with a diverse work history and a very long personal interest in open source software. I am currently in the position of Senior Software Developer at AUSCERT.I have built projects in/used HTML/CSS Bootstrap, SASS, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Python, Flask, Django and Javascript. My current role is MariaDB, PHP, Laravel and Vue.js. I have 24 years of experience as a daily Linux user and am very comfortable with command-line tools such as git and ssh and I also have plenty of experience configuring various servers and maintaining a dev environment. I am highly motivated, a keen and passionate learner with a genuine interest in technology and a love of working with open source software. I am a fast learner, with a proven track record of being able to be productive with new technologies in a short period of time and am someone who is able to wear many hats to work in diverse roles. I am always looking to expand my skill set and I consider it a prerequisite of any new position, that I need to learn at least half of the tech stack. I’m not interested in only working with the same technologies I already know.
