In retirement years Jim continues to work with ProDrive racing school at Portland International Raceway, and has worked through event companies as a product specialist and right seat driving coach, primarily for new vehicle ride & drives, and new vehicle intros. During 2013 he was assigned to one of three National Chevy Silverado teams crossing the country with the updated half-ton Chevrolet pickup. In 2014 he was employed by Lux Performance for the Dodge Challenger 707 hp Hellcat media rollout in Portland, Oregon. Other events include Chevy Grandmasters and the 2015 Japan/2020 Las Vegas Toyota/Lexus dealer conferences that included the fuel cell/Hydrogen vehicle, ‘ Murai ‘Jim retired from Clark County Sheriff's Office in 2008 after 22 years. Specialties include lead driving instructor, traffic homicide investigator, technical collision instructor, hostage negotiator, Marine Patrol and boating safety/operations instructor, with emphasis on driver training for high performance driving, and instructor development.Jim, wife Martha & Aussie “Pepper”live on 5 acres in Ridgefield, Washington in a log home they built in 2002. On the acreage are 360 peach trees that form the basis of Drew's Riverview U-Pick peach farm. Since 2002 they have served the community with a self-serve peach farm. They have two adult sons, and 6 grandchildren. Occasionally, he fishes.
