Dr. Stevenson received his PharmD from the University of Michigan and completed a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). After his residency, Dr. Stevenson completed a fellowship in psychopharmacology and pharmacogenomics at UIC in parallel to a Master of Science degree in Clinical and Translational Sciences at the same institution. His thesis “Antipsychotic Pharmacogenetics in First Episode Psychosis: Is There a Role for Glutamate Genes?” employed multiple pharmacogenomic strategies to identify genetic markers of antipsychotic response. During Dr. Stevenson’s time at UIC, he was also involved in the clinical implementation of pharmacogenetics at the University Hospital. He continued this implementation work, as well as research related to psychiatric and cardiovascular medications at the University of Pittsburgh. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the Division of Clinical Pharmacology, where he conducts precision medicine-related research and leads efforts to incorporate pharmacogenomics into clinical care.
