Provide support to the University of Nevada School of Medicine (UNSOM) statewide clinical operations. Responsible for development, configuration and support of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) application and associated devices such as mobile and handheld, through user need analysis and decision making on clinical workflows. Coordinate application installations, upgrades and issue resolution with end-users and IT personnel. Coordinate, develop and maintain various HL7, X12, XML interfaces from disparate, foreign systems and UNSOM's EMR systems.

Supervised an IT team of 35 staff members (supervisors, software developers, web designers, business analysts, system administrators, communication specialists, network engineers, information security administrators, network security administrators, and data security analysts) and led 6 interdepartmental teams responsible for programming services, network infrastructure, server infrastructure, network security. Responsible for hiring, firing, employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions. Responsible for directing all project management aspects on UMC's IT System Implementations. Responsible for contract negotiations for professional services, asset purchase and maintenance agreements of IT systems.

As the Interim Director/ISO, plan, organize and direct an IT team of 80+ staff members and lead 12 interdepartmental teams performing all activites by the Information Technology division. Manage an IT operational budget of $20 million and an IT capital budget of $4 million.Responsible for hiring, firing, employee performance reviews and disciplinary actions. I have been employed at UMC since September 1999, having worked my way from an Interface Programmer to Project Leader, and then to Director.I currently manage a staff of 25 IT professionals responsible for supporting and maintaining over 200 healthcare software applications for Clark County's only non-profit hospital.
