My field of interest is human-computer interaction and user experience, streamlining arduous designs to maximize usability and usefulness. With experience in journalism, programming, psychology, and UI/UX design, I believe my skills are the perfect cross-section for UX design. My experience programming and my B.S. in Computer Science make me uniquely able to collaborate with developers and understand the limits of what is possible and what is not. My A.S. in Psychology and my experience in journalism have also proven useful in conducting user research, allowing me to design user testing programs both professionally and for my master's program. Finally, my experience creating user stories, prototyping, and my knowledge of the design thinking cycle has helped me during project work for my M.S. in Integrated Design, Business, and Technology, which I was drawn to because of the design-heavy course material.The sole focus of my master’s program was creating startups from the ground up with a particular emphasis on product design. In this program, I learned the product design cycle through a multitude of different projects using design thinking and the agile workflow to create digital, industrial, and physical product plans from ideation to prototype to investor pitches. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with many different teams across a broad spectrum of companies, and I’d love to continue designing as part of a talented team.
