As the assistant to the Turkish Commercial Attaché, I was responsible for the administration and operation of the trade consulate which included settling in new commercial Attachés and their families, and attending to their professional needs. I was also responsible for organizing and managing major events for the Consulate as liaison officer, translator, and interpreter.Major responsibilities included: • Organizing and managing major events for the Consulate which included the G20 Trade Ministerial Meeting in PRC in 2016, regional ministerial conferences, investment forums, and networking events. • Receiving and hosting business delegations from Turkey.• Arranging bilateral meetings for officers from both Turkey and China.• Scheduling and organizing business visits and meetings for the commercial attaché and delegates from Turkey.• Promoting business opportunities and expanding business networks for Chinese and Turkish companies in both countries. • Facilitating communication and correspondence between China and Turkey.• Mediating and resolving trade disputes between Turkish and Chinese companies.• Drafting business letters and briefs, translating documents and files, and providing language interpretation (e.g., during Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit to China in 2013).

LC Waikiki is the largest clothing retail brand in Turkey with over 100 staff members in its Shanghai office. A primary responsibility in the Garment Department was to arrange business trips for LC Waikiki executives from Turkey and China to factories around China (such as in Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Shandong Province etc.). As a Turkish and Mandarin speaker, I was also responsible for all communication and correspondence between the Shanghai office and headquarters in Turkey.Other responsibilities included: • Arrangement of business meetings • Factory visits for quality inspection• Products investigation and detection• Products data collection and compilation• Translation of documents, contracts, price negotiation and business documents
