- Supported all local hardware projects: Catalyst 6k, 9k series switches, Nexus 7k, 9k series data center switches, cable routers and nodes, IOT devices, IP phones, small business routers, switches and AP’s.- Built a high performing team of about 45 engineers in 6 functions EMC (ElectroMagnetic Compatibility) – use simulation and advance measurement tools to solve EMC problems up front Signal Integrity Product Validation – EDVT, MDVT, Safety compliance Power – Board-Mounted and Front End Lab Services Library&Tool Support – ECAD and MCAD library, internal tools for productivity enhancement and automation- Established a culture that nurtures innovation, transparent communication, and customer-first mindset.- Managed and tracked group budget, work with other departments for additional funding source.- Coached first-line managers for leadership developmentKey Initiatives: - Lead EMC research projects: Heatsink optimization, vent hole optimization, skew optimization, optical transceiver cage improvements, magjack EMI improvement, reverberation chamber methodology, … - Lead cross-functional initiative on next-generation power architecture and next-generation cooling architecture - Local testing support for local projects: built in-house EMC chamber, EDVT and Safety labs, utilize local ecosystem for outside lab testing as needed - Talent development: lead Hardware Community, one of 4 communities under Thinkubation platform, held monthly tech talks, provided patent workshops. - Provided EMC chassis and PCB design of all Cisco GSBU (Catalyst 4k) products, worked seamlessly with cross-functional team (Mechanical, ECAD, NPI, SI, etc.) to achieve high-quality and timely product delivery.- Utilized simulation software (CST Microwave Studio, Microstripes) to bring EMC design up front.
