Coordinate with multiple suppliers, contract manufacturers, open market suppliers, brokers to identify inventory of the obsolete component. • Understand consumption and demand for the obsolete component using the ERP system (SAP). Understand the impact of the obsolete component on the next level assemblies.• Recipient of PR coded as Obsolete Component from Technical Review. Using OMAT, review part ecosystem for that PR to identify PN/Buy NHA and all suppliers affected.• Implement ERP planning parameter changes as determined by the established process of parameter review against demand and installed base.• Perform comprehensive material assessment considering available inventory, historical consumption and forecasted demand to give single source of truth from the supply and demand of the obsolete part.• Ensure comprehensive material assessment complete in OMAT and forward the PR to OB PM within PR Cycle Time goal based on PR urgency. • Partner with suppliers to resolve obsolescence issues, conduct trainings, resolve daily issues / queries, get inventory updates. Co-ordinate with suppliers to determine the type of commercial solution available (i.e., revised forecast, part support tied to ongoing business, price negotiation, etc.• Get material quotes from open market suppliers, brokers for hard-to-find components. Summarize and communicate the findings and analysis to the internal cross functional teams (product management, engineering) and resolve any queries.
