About Jj Cherry

JJ Cherry, Ph.D., is a Data Science Fellow at Insight’s Los Angeles location. At Insight he developed tools aimed at finding anomalies in patterns of behavior in people's social media usage and using that knowledge to form predictive models of how other users respond to such strange behavior.  He's excited to be moving into the data science community where he can apply his analytics and model building, and machine learning skill set solving real world problems. He completed his Ph.D. in particle/astro-physics from UC San Diego, where he helped blow up stars in supercomputers and built models of what we might learn from them here on earth.  He spent the next few years working as a researcher creating simulations of the early universe and discovering new ways to detect Dark Matter.  He is passionate about understanding and modeling complex and dynamic systems.
