Solution architect across a number of project focusing on the migration of legacy platforms/system to the cloud (AWS).

In my role of solution architect, I was assigned to a number of projects covering security, fraud and identity management, PCI-DSS compliance, system enhancements to create business and customer benefits. A distributed architecture comprising of on-premise, cloud-base (AWS) and 3rd party components meant that system integration was key in most projects. I was responsible for the creation of the high-level designs and ensuring that it was aligned with architectural standards and was compliant with legal and regulatory requirements

I was the solution architect across a number of projects creating the high-level designs and providing governance with respect to policies and standards, performance, resilience, disaster recovery, capacity, security, etc.

I was the lead solution architect assigned to a project developing a market leading loans transfer solution. I was responsible for the end-to-end design and the alignment of the project to Barclays’ IT strategy. Integration with legacy systems, security, fraud and payment compliance, scalability to meet the demands of open market banking and fulfilment of legal and regulatory requirements were amongst the main challenges.

I was initially involved with several projects including: Integration of a new 3rd party credit reference agency; the creation of an additional call centre site (circa 500 seats); FSA compliance project(s) for credit customers; the provision of an enterprise-wide desktop device management and support solution; ecommerce website performance initiatives.I then moved on to be one of several solution architects assigned to a programme to redevelop the company’s core retail and financial services systems. I provided advice and governance across several workstreams to both internal development teams and several of the company’s 3rd party IT partners to deliver scalable cloud-based solutions (AWS) spanning multiple technologies and data centres.

Technical design authority across a number of retail and business banking projects

I was working on behalf of Capita at the DBS (formerly the Criminal Record Bureau), the executive agency of the Home Office that undertakes the checking of applicant’s information against the national criminal record database, the Disclosure and Barring Service’s child and adult protection registers and local police data relating to relevant non-conviction information.My position was that of solution architect for several new and existing projects. Through the creation of solution overviews and high-level designs I transformed the business requirements in to feasible technical solutions that were consistent with the defined IT strategies and standards.
