Jamie Millard is a passionate executive with 15 years of experience. She's dedicated her leadership to shaping civic discourse in Minneapolis & St. Paul through fostering empathy, encouraging connection across difference, and inspiring meaningful action. Jamie is focused and committed to building a just and loving society through approaches rooted in narrative change, social justice, and leadership engagement. Of her 15 years of experience, 9 of those years were as Executive Director of Pollen Midwest, a Minnesota media arts nonprofit. Jamie grew Pollen from a $0 budget to over $1.3 million dollars with 7 revenue streams, 14 staff members, 140 contractors, and over 7,500 members. She’s raised a cumulative $7+ million dollars and has expanded the organization’s community impact, reach, and sustainability.Under Jamie’s leadership, Pollen developed a successful narrative change approach that decenters harmful, oppressive systems of power. Inspired by the narratives of our community, 91,000 leaders annually use the Pollen website to curate, distribute, and engage with meaningful civic actions. In 2018, Jamie founded and launched Pollen Studio, a social enterprise that generates $500,000-$700,000+ revenue annually and brings Pollen’s expertise in narrative change to other mission-driven organizations. Jamie has served on GiveMN’s Board of Directors, GreaterMSP’s Talent Task Force, Young Nonprofit Professionals Network Twin Cities Board of Directors, and co-founded the literary arts magazine Paper Darts. Jamie has been identified as a "40 Under 40" by the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal, as a "100 People to Know" by the Twin Cities Business Magazine. Nationally, Jamie was recognized in the Huffington Post as one of four millennial leaders, “doing important work to move us toward a more just and equitable society.” Jamie’s alma mater, the University of Minnesota, recognized her with the highly distinguished Outstanding Alumni Award.Jamie regularly speaks on issues of vulnerability, compassionate leadership, narrative change, and cross-pollinated networks. Jamie lives in Minneapolis as a mother of three young daughters who teach her every day about the power of joy.
