In a transformative moment for the Playwrights’ Center, I am pleased to join the senior staff to fulfill the growth potential of this dynamic 50-year organization. With oversight from the executive leadership team, I lead the development and management of organizational goals and departmental budgets, and play a key role in the development of partnership agreements.Working with the Managing Director, I am a principal in the development and implementation of HR policy, along with managing, evaluating and strategizing improvements for the Center’s ongoing growth, major initiatives, facility needs and systems in support of the staff and 2000+ playwrights it serves each year.

Worked directly with the Executive Director and senior management to operationalize processes for a new department, created annual operating budgets, and designed compelling event websites and external marketing materials to increase event attendance. Helped to grow the program from the pilot stage to an annual programming calendar with over 50% more events across the country by managing all operations and planning details, continually assessing and improving program offerings, and providing strong project management to allocate team workload.Developed strategies to increase team capacity, created exciting and compelling event ideas, and initiated a new process for capturing more detailed information that would help inform and improve targeted outreach of participants. These contributions resulted in a 23% increase in event registration, 98% satisfaction rate with program participants, and the ability to create more ongoing events without adding additional staff.

Planned and managed all logistical and on-site needs for over 45 outdoor movie events with more than 46,000 attendees throughout New York City for the annual summer season. Managed the operating budget, reconciled box office revenue, and supervised 15 staff employees and approximately 60 volunteers to create cinema events featuring live music, immersive performances, filmmaker Q&As and large-scale receptions and networking events. As the liaison between tech, press, production and programming departments, created comprehensive production schedules, ensured adequate staffing for all events, and organized trucking requirements and equipment needs for each screening and multiple ancillary programs. In addition, sourced and negotiated contracts for new venues, additional event activations, rental equipment, liquor licenses, and obtained city and temporary place of assembly permits as needed.

Worked directly with the Production Director and arts department to produce over 100 events each year, and lead and managed a portfolio of 6 properties with year-round event schedules. Worked directly with artists, supervised approximately 40 freelance staff and numerous facility employees, procured vendors and long term contracts, managed stakeholder engagement, and developed a pipeline of new talent that were coached from entry level to management positions. Oversaw technical requirements and logistical details for a wide variety of programming, and handled client relationships, site visits, and third party venue rentals. Re-formatted the summer music series to save the company over $40,000 each year in expenses. As a result of its success, this model is now used in other Brookfield properties across the US.I am most proud of co-building a new database from scratch with our internal IT department to more effectively organize event and department files. This system helped to promote clearer and more efficient collaboration between production, program and marketing departments and created an easy archive for shared documents, event templates, artist contracts, sample budgets, marketing collateral, and staffing records.

In this experiential marketing role, I coordinated and supervised event staff and implemented promotional tie-ins with major music tours, local venues, and large regional events. Developed ideas to increase participation and consumer engagement, analyzed event effectiveness to improve future programming, and maintained venue and organizational relationships for a national marketing program.
