Undertook a placement in the Marketing & Communications team. The role was very hands-on and allowed me to get a real sense of carrying out a marketing capacity in a fast-moving manufacturing business. I was expected to participate in daily departmental activities, providing support by working on content for the website, social media and internal publications, supporting with event management as well as supporting the Marketing & Communications manager in the delivery of the Internal Communications Strategy, which included an internal brand refresh. This was an opportunity to learn how internal branding and values affect and support an organisation.In addition to these works, I was tasked in researching and presenting my findings on competitors of Nifco in the automotive plastics industry as well as identifying new markets which Nifco could potentially target. The contribution of completing this competitor analysis was hugely valuable to the business as well as myself as I could claim a piece of work which I had owned and completed. I was expected to provide frequent updates of my findings with opportunities to present to both the Marketing and Sales Managers.
