I was responsible for maintaining a large strategy platform that supports ByteDance strategy teams to quickly implement their strategies in JavaScript and execute them in Go runtime. I developed a backend web service with Gin in Go to provide APIs for manipulating metadata of strategies. Utilizing Grafana and OpenTSDB, I implemented monitoring and alert modules for the system to help locate problems when anomalies happen. And I developed the backend service with Python to request ROI computation and receive results to quantify the gain of the strategies.Besides, cooperating with the other 2 members, we built a data management platform together from zero. I was responsible for the unified query APIs and real-time feature data platform. I designed the unified underlying data structure in Redis for different types of feature data and implemented the generic RPC read/write APIs for feature data, which supported over 1M QPS read/write operations with latency as low as 5 ms per query. Then I developed the backend web service for the Real-Time Feature System with Gin in Go. More than 100 features were registered on the platform. I also introduced an in-memory local cache to avoid redundant parse of protobuf definitions to enhance the throughput of consuming upstream Kafka messages from 200K to 300K per second.
