Supervises ATF staff and criminal investigations in 42 counties of Kentucky.

As the Branch Chief for Field Operations, John managed a complex training program fundamental to the Bureau’s mission. In this capacity, he developed, implemented, and directed new and ongoing training programs designed to prepare agents for the multi-faceted demands of federal criminal investigations.Awards include the Distinguished Service Medal for his work in modernizing and updating the academy training program. Successfully trained over 650 ATF Special Agents

John led numerous violent crime investigations involving criminal street gangs, robbery, narcotics, money laundering, and international firearm trafficking investigations. The investigations required the coordination and cooperation of numerous local, state, federal, and foreign law enforcement officials in various locations across the U.S. and several foreign countries.

During his time with the Kentucky State Police, John distinguished himself in various roles, including general investigation, K-9 handler, and a member of the Special Response Team. KSP SRT was the only full-time team in Kentucky with a 120-county area of responsibility. Primary focus was the execution of high-risk warrant operations, hostage rescue, barricade situations, etc.Awards received: Two-time Trooper of the Year, Meritorious Service Award with “V” device for valor designation, and the Commissioners commendation.

During his time in the USMC, John was chosen for U.S. Embassy Security Duty and assigned to the U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Security Service. Primary responsibility was the safeguard and protection of American personnel, classified material and assisting with the personal security of visiting diplomats and government officials, including U.S. Presidents, Secretaries of State, Secretaries of Defense, etc.Embassies served include the American Embassy in Damascus, Syria, and the American Embassy in Brussels, Belgium which included the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Headquarters and the U.S. Mission to the European Union. Numerous awards and citations were received.
