This was my traditional reserve (i.e. part time) job. Filled position part time as Drilling Individual Mobilization Augmentee in the US Army Reserve. Attended drillsa nd annual training between long tours of active duty - usually 1-3 months. Tracked and reported US security assistance policy implementation in the Asia & Pacific Rim region. Provided expertise to link the security assistance organizations in the US embassies in the Pacific region with other US government organizations. Attended the Security Cooperation Management Course; covers US security assistance policy & practice.

U.S. Special Operations Command South, Homestead Air Force Base, Fl

Coordinated, monitored, managed and visited Special Operation Forces deployed in Colombia and other Andean Ridge countries in South American. Advised the command on mission progress, milestones, and issues. Deployed to weakly governed Nariño Department of Colombia to directly coordinate hundreds of US and Colombian military and police personnel during an extensive US Navy humanitarian exercise. Handpicked to deploy to Colombia as commander’s representative to formally investigate a serious incident.

Kabul

Coordinated a 20 member staff that ensured visits to Afghanistan by congressional delegations, senior military leaders, and distinguished guests integrated smoothly and securely with ongoing combat and logistic operations. In the Director’s absence led in the staff and briefed the commander . Coordinated staff activity to develop products and processes resulting in a strategic outreach coordination board chaired by the commander; ensured visits met strategic objectives in a period during which VIP visits to Afghanistan were increasing exponentially.

Tracked Army Special Operations worldwide; created daily briefs and information products for top army leaders. Coordinated all affected Department of Defense offices in the production of documents on behalf of and in support of Army Special Operations activities. Coordinated the alert, mobilization, and deployment of Army Reserve and National Guard Special Operations Soldiers in support of worldwide operations.

Joint Interagency Task Force - South, Nas Key West

Led a 10 person team in the Joint Operations Center (JOC). Using the JOC, directed the use of US and partner nation assets (aircraft, ships, radar systems, etc.) to detect suspected drug smuggling aircraft and watercraft and then hand-off to law enforcement agencies. Briefed the director and his staff on counter drug operations.

Developed, planned, financially managed and coordinated activities in support of the US Ambassador and the commander of US Southern Command’s foreign military engagement plan. Managed and accounted for the US-Chile Foreign Military Engagement fund, third largest in the command, ensuring embassy legal/policy requirements compliance

Escorted senior US & foreign national officers on visits throughout the US and Latin America. Planned, coordinated and fiscally managed the Reserve Deputy Commander’s military-to-military engagement plan with Latin America. Deployed to Panama and developed a military-to-military engagement plan for the U.S. Office of Defense Cooperation in the U.S. Embassy, Panama. Deployed with and later led, teams to Chile, Peru, Dominican Republic, and Central America to execute command sponsored regional medical conferences.

Paging Division, Boynton Beach, FL and Two-way Radio Division, Latin American Sales, Worked in direct labor while earning accounting degree at Florida Atlantic University. Became Accounting clerk. Earned accoounting degree, passed CPA exam and CMA exams, became staff accountant; maintained the Paging Division accounts receivable and accounts payable general ledger accounts. Closed financial records monthly, reconciled accounts, and ensured compliance with established practices. Paging Division closed its doors forever in 1999.
