Currently exploring semi-retirement after 35 years of helping engineers understand complex tech. I'm currently leading hikes and finding ways to enrich the lives of my community and myself through both intentional and self-organizing methodologies that foster goodwill, fun, and friendship.

I manage training delivery for the US Western region and teach Architecting on AWS courses. A lot of my focus is on hiring and developing the best technical trainers in all of cloud computing.

Expert and thought leader (or soon will be) in the design and connection of Internet-connected things, especially home automation products, using the Arrayent IoT Platform. I am teaching leading big brand name companies how to join the connected revolution in the most effective way possible based on Arrayent's years of success with brands like Whirlpool, Maytag, Chamberlain/Liftmaster, Monster, Mattel, Salus, and more.

Senior Pre-sales / Systems Engineer and Solution Architect designing, installing and demonstrating very complex high performance network traffic analysis software systems, writing application notes, RFP responses. Expert in enterprise and carrier network security. Built Big Data Analytics solution integrating Narus and Teradata software. Pre/post-sales engineering (demos, POCs, trials, installation) at Tier-1 service providers (AT&T, Comcast, Korea Telecom) and world's largest enterprise (Boeing) and government networks. Senior Professional Services Consultant. Installed and configured many production carrier and enterprise class traffic analysis and network security solutions around the world.Developed and delivered training for complex network monitoring software, managed 4 other trainers, installed/administered all my own training equipment hardware/software/networking (Linux, Windows, Oracle). Developed Narus applications with internal programming language and software development kit. US patent granted to me for botnet detection algorithm that is working in production deployments.Over my long tenure at Narus I also ran the Training Department and delivered customer technical training and hired and developed other trainers and curriculum developers.

Developed and delivered training on ASIC design synthesis products (VHDL and Verilog language instruction, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, Design for Test, RTL coding/design).

Turnkey and joint-customer ASIC design, ASIC applations engineering, circuit design, simulation, timing analysis, test, physical design (automated and manual layout), design review. Conducted training classes on complete suite of ASIC design tools.
