I began as an archery floor sales team member. In March 2004 was promoted to archery lead. Job responsibilities included; assisting customers with set up, familiarization and shooting of their archery equipment, assisting and managing the stocking of archery products, ensuring fast selling products were always available. In July 2005, because of my attention to detail, I was promoted to assistant hunting manager responsible for the firearms room and archery. Job responsibilities included; ensuring compliance with all ATF rules and policies involving the firearms room and ensuring inventory was up to date and stocked, again ensuring most wanted firearms were available for customers. October 2005 to January 2011: as Hunting Manager I was responsible for 23 employees, directing and coordinating projects, composing shift schedules, requisition of hunting and firearms products, maintaining inventory control using store provided software, employee conflict resolution and team building responsibility, enforcing state and county workers regulations concerning safety and OSHA compliance. I conduct store safety meetings, motivational meetings, employee goal accomplishments and fill in for the store manager when he is not available.During this time assisted law enforcement in the selection of firearms and to some degree in familiarization and training of selected firearms.Additionally, managed sales at the Oregon Department of Justice Intelligence and Training conference working with law enforcement attendees on issues related to firearms and tools that support their jobs.Currently, as the Camping Manager I am responsible for writing work schedules, hiring and firing of employees. I am accountable for building the talent of my team. I work with our regional Managers to help complete long term objectives. By working with our regional Managers so we can anticipate risks and addresses obstacles in our merchandising on the sales floor.

Springfield, Oregon

After Training for 5 weeks at the Lacey Cabela’s I assisted with the setting up of the new Springfield Cabela’s. I Supervise train and give daily tasks to 168 outfitters. I work as a team player with the managers and pro- staff to ensure that operations are running smoothly. I assist customer with finding product and answering all questions and concerns. I prepare the store for opening and closing. Work with vendors, dept leads and managers to ensure proper merchandise is on the floor for the needs of the area. I write daily reports and process sales data to determine what product is needed for the micro seasons and weekly advertising. I send pushes to the buyers to help meet sales needs and goals. I train outfitters to be future leads and managers and am responsible for monthly store meetings to offer encouragement as well as keep the outfitters on task with the Cabela’s culture.With the help of our Managers and leads we won merchandised store of the year for 2012. April 2013 we had a change in our positions as managers in the store. Our Operations manager became our new soft line manager. He has had no prior training in merchandising and sales were down in the men’s, women’s and children’s apparel. With my help and guidance on product pushes and merchandising we have now as a team have turned sales around and are looking at a strong recovery for these departments to meet or exceeding projected quarterly goals. I work with the community as a Cabela’s professional as well as a neighbor promoting Cabela’s outdoor lifestyle and community involvement.

Worked as a general laborer with a specialty in welding and fabricating, and because of my attention to detail and work ethic was promoted to head field installer of steel structures in two weeks overseeing the completion of over 20 structures. I have extensive knowledge of different types of welders, breaks, hot saws, drills, punch and hydraulic presses.I was responsible for the daily work schedule of field crews, promoting safety rules and procedures, inventory, ordering of new equipment and the maintenance, inventory control of the welding truck, ensuring its readiness to support jobs.

I began as a construction helper, responsible for learning all aspects of home building. This included push outs, footings, framing, siding, roofing and finish carpentry, familiarization with plumbing, electrical and state and county building codes. Because of my strong desire to succeed and good work ethic, after only six months I was running my own crew. Built or assisted in building over 16 custom homes, passing building inspection 100% of the time.

Beaverton, Oregon

I began as a machinist helper. Responsible for running lathes, mills, grinders, table saws, chop saws, pin routers, surface and cylindrical grinders and welders (mig, tig, arch and brazing).I was responsible for rebuilding worn out pumps as well as fixing valve systems.In 1987, I was promoted to lead machinist and managed work schedules, hiring and firing, material ordering, job bidding, employee production and conflict resolution, ensuring compliancy with federal, state, county and local laws and regulations. Because of my strong architectural skill (measuring tools and reading blue prints, etc) I was called on to assist engineers with new product development including design, buildup and production release.In 1998, I was promoted to production supervisor responsible for all personnel and shop scheduling. My team designed and built a new processor that helped lead our sales and increased profits. I ran the front office in sales and accounting often traveling to our main office in Michigan to meet with shareholders and present quarterly profit and loss reports. I worked closely with our team in Portland to help implement new ideas for increasing sales and overall rose profits each year until the company relocated to Michigan.
