Profile bio

About Jackson Lamb

As a passionate problem-solver, I wholeheartedly espouse feeling "comfortable being uncomfortable." I do not shy away from uncertainty but rather embrace it as an opportunity to learn by immersing myself in a problem. Nowhere else has this pursuit been more rewarding than in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE), a nexus of myriad disciplines. The divergent perspectives from which ECE problems may be viewed renders projects rife with unexpected challenges beyond the core design enterprise. This does not make ECE hard; it males ECE great. Confronting those multi-disciplinary problems allows us to broaden our knowledge and become more balanced engineers. As a Computer Engineering major, I can speak both the hardware and software “languages,” and I have experience working on both sides. However, projects where multiple areas intermingle particularly excite me. For example, I am interested in writing embedded software to control hardware and designing PCBs that integrate digital signal processing elements. I also have an awareness of intellectual property issues from coursework on patent law.
