CAD/ CAM programming for a major racing products manufacturer responsible for quality and on-time completion of off-the-shelf and custom products. Machines varied in size from small non-enclosed Tool-room Mill to Haas HS1-5 AXT with a 100-tool carousel. All machines equipped for at least 4-axis machining; major production on five-axes and palletchanging high-speed machines.Products designed included carburetor adapters with advanced surfacing to simultaneous 5-axis machining of intake manifolds and cylinder heads and digitizing complex surfaces and manipulating them in CAD on materials including aluminum, steel, cast iron, and various plastics. Reverse-engineered handmade models into CAD/ CAM designs and programs to be optimal for air flow, cross-sectional area and volume. Designed fixturing to allow for multiple products to be completed in one machine without work offsets or fixturing moves.
