I am as comfortable working as part of senior management team as I am as an entrepreneur. My experience in accounting, finance, system design, software development, healthcare, marketing, and strategic planning over a 40 year career have allowed me to recognize emerging trends and create solutions ahead of the market. As a CPA and MBA, I served as CFO of both a 365-bed hospital and a $40 million publicly-traded international manufacturing company. As an entrepreneur, I co-founded one of the first companies in the nation focused on integration of disparate hardware systems. That company was named #19 in 1986 on the “Inc. 500” listing of fastest growing companies in the US. I also co-founded and was the chief software architect at one of the first healthcare data integration companies in the nation. That company developed applications to extract and standardize data from dozens of disparate electronic medical records, practice management, insurance claims data, and other sources, allowing data integration, aggregation, exchange, reporting and analysis years before other companies started trying to do this. The systems developed became the infrastructure for over a dozen large-scale national research projects and were implemented at some of the most highly-regarded physician practices and residency programs throughout the nation. Most of the applications I helped develop prior to PCTH were developed prior to the establishment of data and interoperability standards, placing them far ahead of the market. As national standards have been developed, I continue to be, active in standards-development organizations such as ASTM and HL-7.My entrepreneurial accomplishments have focused on solving existing or emerging problems using cross-industry or emerging technologies. In situations where there were not existing solutions, I led initiatives to create new solutions.
