With every new company comes unique challenges. Stemson was in its infancy and it was exciting to research, plan, and implement the design of a new lab. I was trusted with the amount of control and felt it rewarding to see the rapid growth and operation during my time there. The pandemic brought challenges to our goals. We had to invest time to finding solutions to the problems it brought, but i'm proud to say that we were able to continue work mostly unencumbered.

San Diego

Originally hired as a part-time Facilities Technician. My responsibilities included building maintenance, incubator calibration, stock inventory, equipment maintenance/ troubleshooting, shipping and receiving duties. My focus during this time was to be available to help meet the needs of the team in any way I could. By August 2016, this focus allowed me to take advantage of an opportunity to transition into a full-time Operations Support Technician. My duties grew to include vendor coordination, ordering, safety manager, and lab organization. Flexibility and attention to detail helped me to manage my facility and its' people. I pride myself in being able to overcome all changes and random issues that come up day-to-day. In August 2018, I took over sole responsibility of operations and was promoted to Operations Associate. Availability allowed me to grow and learn quickly. I am always hungry for the responsibilities that allow the lab and it's researchers to operate efficiently.

Greater San Diego Area

Spent four years onboard the USS Essex, home-ported in San Diego. Completed a west Pacific deployment during 2015 and was a contributing member of its operations in the Arabian Gulf. During service, worked in various job areas like quality assurance, damage control maintenance, and administration. Gained skills in management, leadership, administration, including countless others. • Central Technical Publications Librarian: Meticulously managed weekly addendum updates to 10,000 physical technical publications. Audited work centers for proper use.• Damage Control Maintenance Technician: Completed countless maintenance requirements on damage control and life-saving equipment. Defended work quality to senior leadership during weekly spot checks with 100% success rate. • Advanced Skills Management Fleet Administrator: Oversaw qualifications of 200 marines and sailors. Insured readiness by completing and assigning training. Responsible for biannual performance evaluation coordination.
