Internal Communication Specialist
As the Internal Communications Specialist, my first focus is how news and change are enacted and disseminated throughout the growing organization. My daily responsibilities include working across departments and offices to learn of news, internal and external activities of the organization, and changes coming down the pipeline. I work with company leadership to help develop execution and communication strategies for a 600-associate organization with a special focus on how the changes and news are shared across a workforce split between offices and construction sites. I am responsible for planning and executing our internal, all company events, including three yearly meetings and summer and winter parties for all associates. I have a love for the art of communication and am driven by people. This role allows me to act on both of these and ensure that our associates are highly engaged and heard.
Marketing Manager
As the Marketing Manager, I handle any and all pieces of content that come out of the Folly Theater with our branding and voice. My responsibilities are wide ranged and include coordinating marketing assets and vendors, developing strategic marketing plans and implementing timelines to promote the theater's award winning Jazz Series, Kids' Series, and Americana Music Series. Over the course of my time with the Folly Theater, I'm proud to have been able to double our social media presence with engaging content. I've been able to more than triple the amount of Press and Public Relations coverage of our theater by developing ties with local press and television broadcast journalists around Kansas City. Finally, our namesake, Folly Jazz Series, has increased in attendance and profitability year over year through diversified marketing, the establishment of a Young Friends group, and careful adherence to a fiscally conservative budget. I am also very proud to have established the Folly Encore Club. A young friends/professional networking group that focuses on bringing in a newer demographic and patrons to the Folly Theater, helping to develop and expand our audience.
