In sales I found a career that I could be passionate about. I retain that passion to this day though I don’t have to work for money anymore. I sold a number of products starting in retail, moving to wholesale and finally finding my niche in selling the intangible. I owned a sales training business for many years. The work was great fun and I got to spend most of my time doing two things that I love: selling and teaching. Business success made possible my retirement at a fairly young age.I earned a Masters degree in entrepreneurship at the University of Florida. I did it purely for fun. Already successful in business, I wanted to gain a deeper understanding from an academic perspective. My education and my experience qualified me to teach at Santa Fe College in Gainesville. Four and a half years of teaching two courses: Sales and Organizational Behavior were some of the most satisfying years of my life. I enjoyed designing and teaching my courses, which gave me an opportunity to combine rigorous academics with my experience “on the street”. I got to work with wonderful students and very supportive peers and administrators.Now I live a good life focused on physical and mental fitness. I read a lot. I play pickleball, hike, work out at the gym and teach a number of Zumba classes. Retirement for me is just as active as was my work life. It’s good work if you can get it.
