NAB’s Customer Analytics suite of applications facilitate CRM and communication management. At the core is the Teradata CM (Communication Manager) tool. Data is extracted from the Data Warehouse and operational systems, and massaged/consolidated to generate activity based contact information. It also provides leads in real time to the customer facing channels (Tellers, Phone banking and Internet Banking) via an OSB (Oracle Service Bus) based integration layer. Telstra's Retail DWH system was developed initially using ETI to generate Teradata scripts. However, early in the project, ETI was withdrawn, and Teradata scripts were written manually.Tasks included:• Review design documents and write system specification documents • Construct import/export modules using Teradata SQL and ETI • Prepare unit testing plans and conduct Unit and Integration testing • Mentor less experienced team members • Assist in team leader functions, including assuming the role during team-leader absence, liaising with other teams and advising on standards and procedures

The Accord Project delivered new applications to the British Department of Health and Social Services. We used Lotus Domino to version control specifications, and COOL:Gen to generate COBOL/CICS/DB2 servers on the mainframe. The approach employed was to componentize data access as far as possible to increase code share and consistency.

S&M DWH Project==============Assisted a large team in the establishment of a Data-Warehouse and related infrastructure. The Data-Warehouse was to be the main knowledge base for Telstra's Sales and Marketing arm. It was to contain all Customer and Sales related data to be used for marketing campaigns, trend analysis and adhoc queries. My involvement included writing technical specifications and coding ETL processes. Development was done by using ETI (CASE tool), which ran on a HP UNIX box, generating MVS COBOL and JCL.Mobiles Billing===========The MICA project delivered the TELSTRA MobileNet Billing Software and Infrastructure. It was a high profile project within IBM GSA due to its well-developed standards and procedures (they were a CMM Level 3 site, working towards CMM Level 5 accreditation). The environment was IBM MVS, with interfaces to PC LAN and web-based environments (for the agency network). COOL:Gen was employed to generate COBOL/CICS/DB2 entities. My involvement included producing Technical Specifications and COOL:Gen Coding, COBOL coding and SQL coding. Code walkthroughs and reviews.

SUPPORT OF NATIONAL MUTUAL PERFORMANCE DATABASEAs a member of a small team, supported the NM MXG Performance Database System. This system was built using the SAS 4GL. The system provided a warehouse of computer-related usage, performance and capacity related data. Data was sourced from the SMF repository, the various PABXs (for telephone usage data), IMS logs, CICS logs, DB2 logs, etc.IMPLEMENTATION AND SUPPORT OF A NEW USER BILLING SYSTEMWorking with another two analysts, implemented BDBF and tailored it to meet NM’s user charge-back needs. BDBF was written in SAS and Assembler for the MVS platform. Tasks included SAS programming, unit testing and documentation.MIGRATION WORKBENCH SUPPORTAssist NM Application Support teams in the migration of various large DB2 systems. This involved piloting new migration procedures (developing and documenting tasks) as well as altering and improving the existing in-house written migration workbench (PL1).DEVELOPMENT OF ONLINE REPORT GENERATORBuilt an Online Report Generator for the Job Accounting System. The sub-system was written in PL1 using ISPF screens and CLISTS. The sub-system allowed direct access to charging data at any level of detail.PRODUCTION LIBRARY UPDATING SYSTEM MAINTENANCESupport and maintain the National Mutual PLUA system. This was an in-house written migration tool, written in PL1, VSAM and ISPF MDS.
