It was a high profile project within IBM GSA due to its well-developed standards and procedures (they were a CMM Level 3 site, working towards CMM Level 5 accreditation). The environment was IBM MVS, with interfaces to PC LAN and web-based environments (for the agency network). COOL:Gen was employed to generate COBOL/CICS/DB2 entities. My involvement included producing Technical Specifications and COOL:Gen Coding, COBOL coding and SQL coding. Code walkthroughs and reviews.

BDBF was written in SAS and Assembler for the MVS platform. Tasks included SAS programming, unit testing and documentation.MIGRATION WORKBENCH SUPPORTAssist NM Application Support teams in the migration of various large DB2 systems. This involved piloting new migration procedures (developing and documenting tasks) as well as altering and improving the existing in-house written migration workbench (PL1).DEVELOPMENT OF ONLINE REPORT GENERATORBuilt an Online Report Generator for the Job Accounting System. The sub-system was written in PL1 using ISPF screens and CLISTS. The sub-system allowed direct access to charging data at any level of detail.PRODUCTION LIBRARY UPDATING SYSTEM MAINTENANCESupport and maintain the National Mutual PLUA system. This was an in-house written migration tool, written in PL1, VSAM and ISPF MDS.
