In October 2001, the company was acquired by Instinet Corporation in a transaction value of $150 million. ProTrader’s technology was used to develop the Instinet Portal desktop trading and trade routing program. Following the acquisition, joined Instinet as Senior Vice President serving as Managing Director of Instinet Clearing Services in New York.

Served as CEO of ProTrader Group, a direct market access software development and electronic brokerage company. He was recruited to restructure the company’s operations and focus its software development efforts.

Served on the executive committee and was responsible for strategic planning, corporate development, investor relations and technology. Prior to joining Parker & Parsley, served as an investment banker to that Company in its initial management buyout in 1989 ($55 million) and the following acquisitions: Prudential Bache Energy Partners ($508 million), Bridge Oil Australia ($430 million) and Pacific Gas & Electric properties ($150 million).
