Jon McGoran is an award-winning writer, editor, teacher, and communications professional. He is the author of ten novels, including the young adult science fiction thrillers Spliced, from Holiday House Books, and its sequels, Splintered and Spiked, as well as the acclaimed ecological thrillers Drift (2013), Deadout (2014), and Dust Up (2016), from Tor/Forge Books. He is cohost of The Liars Club Oddcast, a weekly podcast featuring authors and other creatives. He is represented by Stacia Decker at the Dunow Carson Lerner Literary Agency and, for film, by Nicole Weinroth and Sanjana Seelam at William Morris/Endeavor and Rich Green at The Gotham Group.He also works as a freelance writer, editor, writing coach, and story consultant, with clients including Ubisoft, Counterplay Games, Titan Books, Mangrove Media, Risk & Insurance Magazine, University of Pennsylvania, and numerous individual authors. He has over 20 years experience in the non-profit world as communications director at Weavers Way Co-op in Philadelphia and editor of the monthly newspaper The Shuttle. He also served as editor-in-chief at Grid, a Philadelphia-based magazine about sustainability. His other fiction credits include the D. H. Dublin forensic crime thrillers Freezer Burn, Blood Poison, and Body Trace, from Penguin Books, and The Dead Ring, a media tie-in novel based on the hit TV show, The Blacklist, from Titan Books. His short fiction has appeared in numerous anthologies and publications. His short story "Bad Debt" was named a Distinguished Mystery Story of 2014 in Best American Mystery Stories.
