  As the Accreditation Manager for the Creve Coeur Police Department, I assist in the development of policy in accordance with guidelines set forth by CALEA, the Commission on Accreditation on Law Enforcement. The Creve Coeur Police Department has been Internationally Accredited by CALEA since 2011 and I am proud to assist in this tradition by managing the accreditation process. Tasks include:-Current policy review to assure we are up-to-date with current laws, best practices and industry-specific guidelines.-New policy development ensuring new practices are backed by legal justification and in-line with current industry best practices.-Training and curriculum development to assure employees understand the policy and how it affects them on an operational, procedural and functional level.-Preparing reports to notify upline managers, City staff and civilian stakeholders are clear on project progress as well as pertinent crimes and events.-Cross-checking for employee accountability by managing our Professional Standards bureau conducting investigations into claims of officer misconduct.-Managing our Property and Evidence function by adopting and overseeing the deposit, storage, withdrawal and disposition of all criminal evidence and property held for safe-keeping by the Department.-Serving as a Public Information Officer for the Department, supporting social media publication, press releases and community outreach.
