Team Leader / Senior Investigator - Strike Force AmblesideNsw Police Force Nov 2016 - Sep 2018Sydney, AustraliaIn November 2016 I took up the role of Detective A/Sergeant in charge of Strike Force Ambleside which was a crime response initiative I developed to target fraud offending across Sydney. Through strong cross-functional relationships, both internally and externally, we were able to facilitate the delivery of real time information for fraudulent card present transactions direct from financial institutions to police in the field. As a result, a large number of persons were arrested at at the scene, securing both instruments and proceeds early in the investigation.Through external relationships, I was able to implement a 'Daily Fraud Report', where numerous financial institutions disseminated every morning all card related transactions identified as fraud in the previous 24 hours. This information was shared with Police across the state allowing real time analysis, trend monitoring and offence tracking to occur.During my time as the officer in charge, over 500 fraud offences were resolved through investigations conducted by Strike Force Ambleside. I led a team of dedicated investigators and together we were able to demonstrate how strong relationships between law enforcement and private industry can bring about unprecedented results. The crime response initiative created by Strike Force Ambleside was documented replicated by numerous Police Area Commands across the state and by Police in both Victoria and Queensland.I have presented on the success of Strike Force Ambleside to numerous audiences including to local Detectives, Regional intelligence conferences, State Crime Manager conferences and the IAFCI Southern Chapter conference.
