In life there comes a time to take a breath and after 3 takeovers and 17 years of loyal service my time had come. I decided to devote 12 months to reconnect with my 4 young daughters and very understanding wife, which I felt very fortunate to be in a position to do. I left CIMB as Head of Sales Trading and Execution and valuable member of a 4 man management team that ran the business. My time with the above 4 organisations allowed me to cultivate many great relationships both on the buy and sell side and this network has been the foundation for the success I have been fortunate enough to enjoy. Responsibilities I was an integral part of a four man management team that ran the Australian business. My role was a producing manager that over saw the distribution side of the business. Post some changes in management after 5 months, my role evolved to be solely responsible for setting the strategic direction of the firm and then presenting this to both offshore management and then to the domestic business. I also then worked with a new management team to position them to run the business. I was an RE and was extremely hands on in all areas of revenue generation, risk and compliance procedures. I was responsible for conducting performance reviews and overseeing account reviews in both the domestic and international business whilst monitoring client relationships and revenue numbers. I was responsible for submitting budget numbers for the equities business. Achievements Helped bring a new unknown brand name to the Australian market, which involved an enormous amount of effort to move our entire domestic client base across to the new entity. Moving our daily commission numbers to $150k from $25k in 5 months. Cut existing RBS cost base down from $70m to $35m through renegotiated staff contracts, leases, procurement and services contracts. -
