Julia is a Washington State University graduate with a bachelor's degree in Political Science Pre-Law, and additional majors in Philosophy Pre-Law and Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. In her collegiate years, she was a member of the board of directors for Alternatives to Violence of the Palouse, an alumnus of Alpha Omicron Pi – Alpha Gamma Chapter, Pi Sigma Alpha College Honor Society, ASWSU Cougar Lobby Team, and the Pacific Northwest Political Science Association. She has also held intern positions at the Thomas S. Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service, and the WSU Pre-Law Resource Center.Julia has held professional roles as a sexual assault victim's advocate, an employment coordinator with WorkSource WA, and coordinated care for Whitman County Health Homes members under the Washington State Health Care Authority. Julia has a passion and drive to help her community at large, especially in regard to matters regarding civil and human rights.Julia works as a full time non-profit support specialist for an ACH, and is a part-time Chef, and Author to honor what lights her up inside. She currently provides personal chef services throughout the Seattle area. Julia enjoys writing and performing spoken word poetry in her free time. In June 2020, she published her first collection of poems titled, "Because the Universe Told Me To". A quote that motivates Julia is, "What lies behind us, and what lies before us, are tiny matters compared to what lies within us" by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
