Lead Network Engineer for Vermont Telephone Company's multi-state optical fiber network extending throughout Vermont to Boston, New York City and Montreal. Duties include designing core and network access infrastructure in addition to OAM and Tier-3 support of services including MPLS VPN, FTTH, DSL, DWDM/OTN transport, VoIP/HPBX, IPTV and 4G LTE broadband.Key Projects:• Lead role in the design and rollout of new IP/MPLS network architecture to support voice, videoand data services for FTTH, L2/L3 VPN and circuit-emulation in a multi-vendor environment(Alcatel-Lucent, Juniper, Cisco, Adtran).• Lead role in migration from legacy DWDM/SONET infrastructure to DWDM/OTN supportingwavelength services up to 100G using Alcatel 1830 PSS.• Implemented PIM/IGMP multicast protocols to support IPTV. Performed key role in IPTVproduct rollout using Microsoft Mediaroom middleware.• Rolled-out IPv6 on all servers and network systems supporting FTTH/Metro-Ethernet business and enterprise subscribers.• Performed key role in trunk, subscriber line and voicemail platform migrations from NortelDMS100 telephone switch to Metaswitch softswitch with EAS voicemail platform.• Implemented Linux/FreeBSD server virtualization using KVM and VMware across two datacenters. Developed tools to automate consistent server builds using Ansible and Python. Implemented new server loading balancing system using LVS/Keepalived.• Lead role in Hosted PBX and SIP trunk product roll-out.• Developed equipment configurations and VPN's to interface with eNodeB for state-wide LTEnetwork using fiber and microwave backhaul services• Lead role in the deployment of Metro-Ethernet/cell-site backhaul services utilizing Accedian NIDs. Created custom Python scripts to collect Y.1731 metrics from NIDs for monthly SLA reporting and monitoring. Developed network-wide QoS PHB's to prioritize real-time traffic SLAs.• Deployed Netflow/RTBH solution using BIRD routing daemon to mitigate DDoS attacks
