I completed a two-year contract for Samsung, with responsibility for developing and implementing a mining and minerals business strategy for Samsung Construction and Trading Corporation. I established a mining organization, developed and implemented a market strategy for involvement in the full value chain of mining projects, including feasibility studies, and fixed-price EPC project delivery. Our strategy included opening regional offices in Santiago, Chile and Perth, Australia. These efforts resulted in award to Samsung of major mining related projects, including the $5.7 Billion Roy Hill Iron Ore Mine, Railway and Port project in Western Australia.

I managed the Minerals Division in Latin America. Our capability included full design, procurement and construction of large mining and metals projects in Chile, Peru, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay. Responsibilities included strategic planning, business development, project planning, and project delivery for mining and metals projects in Chile, Peru, Columbia and Mexico for clients including Codelco, Barrick, Anglo American, Southern Peru Copper Company and Antofagasta Minerals, BHP Billiton and CAP. I was EPCM Project Manager for the Tia Maria Project; WorleyParsons’ first mining mega-project in South America with a scope that included basic engineering, detailed engineering, procurement and CM. Tia Maria is a $1.2 billion green field copper mine and copper cathode production facility in the Arequipa Region of Southern Peru.

Group President with full P&L responsibility, and a member of the Parsons Corporation Executive Management Committee. Commercial Technology business achieved over $1 Billion annual revenue, with more than 3,000 employees. Commercial Technology had responsibility for Parsons’ non-governmental markets, including industrial manufacturing, environmental remediation, pharmaceutical and biologics manufacturing facilities, healthcare and hospital facilities, education facilities, including K-12 and higher education, and telecommunications.

Responsible for Business Development for a major business unit serving Parsons’ non-government markets, including industrial infrastructure, telecommunications, healthcare, education facilities, pharmaceutical / biologics manufacturing, energy, industrial, and environmental remediation. I was a member of the Executive Management Committee (EXCOM) of the Parsons Corporation. During my tenure, Parsons Commercial Technology Group sales realized a compound annual growth rate of 38%.

I had management, profit & loss, and operational responsibility for projects performed outside the United States, including Europe, Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. Responsibilities included international strategy, business planning, project execution and meeting sales and profit targets.

I was responsible for managing Parsons in Russia. As Parsons’ first employee in Russia and the CIS, I established business operations and ensured award and execution of several projects in Russia, including;-Russian Chemical Weapons Destruction Facility. Project included Design, procurement and construction of a $1.3 Billion facility to destroy Russia’s stockpile of chemical weapons in a remote part of Western Siberia. -US Embassy in Moscow, Russia. Parsons led a Joint Venture to construct the new $200 Million US Embassy Building for the Department of State.-Russian Officer Resettlement Project. The project included design and construction of 2,500 housing units, valued at $68 million, in sixteen different locations throughout Western Russia.

Managed various projects while assigned to Parsons Washington Office, including design and construction of the Large Cavitation Channel and Large Accoustic Tank, both for the US Navy. Also I managed the Federal Aviation Administration Air Route Traffic Modernization Program in it's final two years.

Project Manager for two crude oil storage facilities for the US Strategic Petroleum Reserve, the Bayou Choctaw Crude Oil Storage Site in Placquemine, Louisiana, and the West Hackberry Crude Oil Storage Facility, in Hackberry, Louisiana.

Commissioned officer in the United States Army, served five years of active duty, overseas and in the United States, as a combat engineer unit leader. Airborne and Ranger qualified.
