Commenced two research projects to isolate bacteriophages from anaerobic and microaerophilic bacteria implicated in human health, and subsequently propagate bacteriophage cocktails at industrial scale. Traveled to learn relevant techniques from collaborators in Europe. Responsibilities included designing and conducting experiments to elucidate the growth dynamics of the host bacteria and infection dynamics of the predatory bacteriophage, implementing beginning scale-up of production, and purifying product via tangential flow filtration. Worked independently and collaborated with other researchers on group projects.

Responsibilities include maintaining an accurate and efficient database of samples, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, extracting nucleic acid samples, quantifying nucleic acid samples, and performing real-time PCR.

From June until August of 2008 to 2011 and from June-August 2015 I worked as a counselor at Barrie Day Camp. I was a C.I.T. in 2008, a Junior Counselor from 2009 until 2010, and a Senior Counselor in 2011 and 2015. My responsibilities included providing campers with a safe, fun, and educational summer environment, encouraging campers to try new activities and make new friends, and effectively communicating with fellow counselors, administrators, and parents.During the summer of 2015, I was the sole senior counselor managing three camper groups. I collaborated with the Junior Counselors in the group to make sure each camper had an enjoyable and memorable summer. I still have contact with two parents who feel I made their children's summers fantastic. My work evaluation rated me as meeting expectations in one category and exceeding expectations in the rest.
