  -- Promotion from previous position as company rebranded and opened a new location. --During this phase, the casino broke off from the racetrack building into its own location still on property. My concentration was to plan, design, implement and oversee installations and upgrades for the network infrastructure including desktop, server and network devices. Basically, if it plugged into a network, it was my problem.Using many open-source technologies, a new career highlight was marked as my first alert came to my phone after writing custom management and alerting tools for both of our separate switch infrastructures. Disk, I/O, link up/down, CPU and other alerts were set up while versioned backups were streamlined and archived, all without a single license.Management Responsibilities* Manage a fifteen-member (15) technical resources team consisting of System Administrators, IT Technicians and Help Desk personnel for 24x7 support of all operations.* Define roles, responsibilities, workflows, and policies for IT operations and administration.* Responsible for hiring IT infrastructure resources, conduct routine employee evaluations, as-needed project and goal meetings and developing career paths for each employee.Key Technical Achievements* Hands-on managed two separate Cisco switch infrastructures of over 300 devices each.* Custom-built management and alerting tools for both infrastructures.
