Marketing & Events Surrey Heath Borough Council:I am head of marketing for Camberley Theatre, a 400 capacity venue with over 120 shows per year. Using various digital and traditional marketing strategies to drive sales, we regularly have sell out performances. Including tribute bands, comedy and community events. In the last few years the theatre has enjoyed work in progress visits from Michael McIntyre, John Bishop, Russell Howard and Rob Beckett.I have organised various sponsorship deals across the Council, from the ever popular annual panto, to the Sports Awards and Camberley Comedy Festival. I event managed and initiated the Comedy Festival in 2019 as a means of attracting people to Camberley which led to an impact on the night time economy. I grew the festival from a sell out, 50 capacity out door event, to a sell out 600 capacity festival in 2023. This final festival took place in a mini circus big top, selling out well in advance. I was responsible for curation, production and marketing.As part of the Surrey Heath communications team, I was responsible for hosting live streaming Surrey Heath Borough Council meetings along with leading on the team that organised the Surrey Heath Business Awards. This included filming and editing the video content. I was also part of the team that delivered the Business Breakfasts featuring guest speakers and panel discussions.In my spare time, I write a blog capturing stories, films and photos about my involvement in the early days of the 1980's indie music scene up until and including the Green Man Festival which I founded in 2003 and ran until 2011. Growing in capacity from 350 attendees for one day to 15.000 for three days and nights. I also use this platform to investigate new and evolving social media trends, for example Bluesky and Threads. I designed and run the website using Wordpress. I also edit and update the Camberley Theatre website via Craft CMS. I still make and release music.www.indiethroughthelookingglass.com
