I circumnavigated the world in one of the worlds toughest yacht races - the BT Global Challenge 2000/01, against prevailing winds and tides. I thrived under the pressure of training for the immense challenge and whilst continuously meeting with Managing Directors of local and international business to raise funds for my berth fee, I continued my employment with Business Link Hertfordshire. I achieved the sponsorship required of £26k whilst also raising £12k for Save the Children. Compaq sponsored our ocean racing yacht and crew. Working closely with Merriweather Ltd, Microsoft (EMEA) IT Account Managers were flown to join the Compaq crew, where we were involved in an intense Team and Personal Development Programme during our penultimate stop-over in Cape Town. Compaq Non-Stop came 2nd Overall out of 12 competing yachts.
