Leading a global transition and improvement process for BHP Procurement Operations. Standardising and centralising the global purchasing function, delivery of robotics automation and process change improvements using Agile sprint methodology. After delivery of this project I was the flight plan manager for the Ariba onboarding project, migrating suppliers to the new digital procurement platform
Lead for the purchasing function across Australia with a team of 60 procurement professionals, including 3 Superintendents and 3 Business Partners, influencing $1 billion across all off contract spend portfolios. Delivered the successful, on time completion of outsourcing 80% of the Minerals Australia transactional purchasing to our Global Asset Services team based in Kuala Lumpur. Resulting in a 20% overall reduction in procurement staff requirements, through process improvements and significant year on year labour cost savings. The Employee Perception Survey results for the Purchasing team at the end of 2018 were the standout across Supply and represented a 20% increase in positive results over the previous year, despite having transitioned work to KL and an 80% reduction in the team’s headcount in Australia.Supported an Agile end to end Supply Chain improvement project, bringing together cross sub functional teams to deliver change, benefit and value in under 3 months. The team won a BHP Commercial award in FY19 for the efficiencies delivered, which included 20% uplift in automated material purchase orders (equates to an increase of 3K purchase orders per month), adding over 200,000 material items to contract, the use of robotics and embedding process changes to ensure ongoing sustainability.Implemented and led a new 24/7 urgent purchasing process to support and align with our 24 hour operations, providing improved service levels and minimising downtime for plant and equipment, provided a long term ask from our operations.Mentored the team and led the development and delivery of an inhouse Purchasing Academy training program.

Involved streamlining process, gaining global agreement across all assets and implementing system architecture changes where required.
