The work they do is focused on improving the lives of the kids and their communities today and in the future.In 2019 I decided to hop on my bike and ride 500km through Thailand to raise money for these amazing kids. Having been over there and spent some time with them, I can see first hand the difference this money makes to their lives.We met Ice who was 8 years old at the end of the bike ride. He was a confident and happy kid who has been through a traumatic and tough beginning in life. His mother was a drug addict and his grandfather would be left to look after him and his brother. Forgetful in his old age, his grandfather would leave the boys at 5 and 6 locked in their room for long periods of time. So much time in fact, that the boys would have to break out to scavenge for food at restaurants and rubbish bins. In agreement with the mother, the boys were taken in by Hands Across The Water where they could be houses, provided education and much love. -
