Jo Lunn is a registered Psychologist who has been working in the Alcohol and Other Drug treatment (AOD) field since 1996. Jo has worked in or consulted numerous treatment agencies. Providing both direct service delivery to clients and designing and implementing organisational change with a particular focus on improving service delivery for clients with co-existing AOD and complex needs (e.g. mental health issues, cognitive impairment, homelessness, involvement in the criminal justice system, Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse status). Jo is a qualified trainer who has developed, implemented and evaluated specialized training programs for various organizations in the non-government and government sectors. Jo is an experienced supervisor and has worked as an industry advisor on numerous projects at state, federal and international level. Jo was awarded an Australian Government research training program scholarship to complete her PhD at the University of Wollongong. The focus of the PhD is a continuation of her long standing work in Investigating and responding to the needs of people who have cognitive impairment and are attending substance use treatment. She is completing this part-time while operating a private psychology practice. Jo is also a current supervisor (both group and individual) and trainer.Jo is passionate about empowering clients and staff to understand and respond to their experience. Her main treatment approach includes Schema Therapy, EMDR, Polyvagal Theory and the biology of trauma and mindfulness.
